The calculator determines how many pounds of sodium chloride (pool salt) are needed to raise your pool from its current salinity level to your target level. You enter pool volume in gallons, current salt level in PPM, and desired PPM. Most saltwater chlorine generators are calibrated to work best between 2,700 and 3,400 PPM, with 3,200 PPM being the most common target.

The calculator uses a widely referenced formula based on weight at 8 weeks multiplied by a breed-size multiplier (typically 4× for small breeds, 2.5× for medium breeds). Accuracy is strongest for dogs of typical weight for their breed category. Mixed-breed dogs with uncertain parentage, very large breeds like Great Danes, and toy breeds under 5 lbs adult weight tend to show higher variation. Use the result as a range estimate.

Chronological age is your precise age expressed in years, months, and days, not just years rounded down. A child who is 2 years, 8 months, and 14 days old has a different chronological age from one who is 2 years, 11 months old, even though both are '2 years old' by common usage. Chronological age is used in pediatric growth charts, medication dosing by age, eligibility cutoff calculations, and legal contexts.

Dogs show visible physical signs of pregnancy around weeks 3-4, including enlarged and darker nipples, mild behavioral changes, and slight weight gain. Morning sickness can occur around weeks 3-4. The abdomen becomes noticeably enlarged from week 5 onward. Fetal movement may be felt through the abdomen during weeks 6-7. A veterinary ultrasound can confirm pregnancy as early as day 25-28 after mating.
